It has been a long, tough winter. Cold days and quarantine have made it easy to curl up on the couch instead of lacing up those sneakers and getting some movement.

Whether it was weight gain, unhealthy eating habits, lack of motivation to exercise or the stress of social distancing, an invisible viral threat, or just plain laziness, it is time to break free and get moving again. As frustrating as it may be that you once ran weekly 5Ks and now walking a mile seems daunting, it all starts with that FIRST STEP!! You may not be able to pick up where you left off, but you DO need to pick yourself up and start!.

This challenge is designed with all levels in mind and the goal of getting you moving.
Beginners: The 100 Minute March is designed with you in mind.
National Physical Activity Guidelines recommend getting 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week. Walking is one of the BEST ways to meet these recommendations as it is low impact, can be done practically anywhere and requires no equipment with the exception of a good pair of walking sneakers.

- Track your progress each week through your choice of fitness tracker or app.
- Challenge yourself to improve each week and feel yourself getting stronger
- Report your minutes each week for accountability
- Receive support from other walkers who have taken on the challenge through a private Facebook Group

- Committing to walking, jogging or running 100 Miles in the month of March.
- Measuring your progress and logging miles each week for accountability
- Motivation to push yourself outside your comfort zone and feel yourself getting stronger and building endurance.
- Receive support from others who have taken on the challenge of 100 miles in March.
Accountability
Each participant will be responsible for tracking and logging their minutes or miles. There will be a form to fill out each week with a tally of miles/minutes. Participants will be expected to record miles/minutes each Saturday by 10:00am to be included on the Leaderboard.
A private Facebook group will be created for all members of the challenges to share, comment, motivate and inspire each other as well as get tips and information on current health trends that will keep you moving in the right direction and help you maintain a physical activity routine long after the end of March.

When you commit to a personal goal of 100 Miles or 100 Minutes a Week during the month of March, you will become part of a team of likeminded individuals who will support you throughout your journey. Register by March 1st and you will also receive a "journey of 1000 miles" t-shirt to wear with pride as you take each step towards continued health and wellness. Also, I will be with you every step of the way as a certified health and wellness coach and personal trainer with tips, motivation and check ins. Lastly, you will be introducing, building, and reinforcing healthy lifestyle habits with every mile or minute you conquer.
